Blanca Guerrero

Blanca Guerrero is a visual artist born in Madrid and raised in New York. She graduated in printmaking from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in 2012. Her work has been exhibited internationally in Spain, the United States, and Japan. In September 2021, she moved to Madrid after 28 years in New York.

Her work encompasses photography, painting and collage to propose places to be. Her process starts from an exercise of conscious observation, while renouncing herself in front of certain landscapes, moments or environments; in producing her work, she returns to those instants and tries to reflect her visual and bodily experience.

Guerrero tries to perpetuate the sensorial character of fleeting phenomena such as the glare of the sun, the darkness of the night, the different tones of the twilight, the veils of the fog, or the light on the surface of the water and its reflections on the bottom. His aspiration is always to give physical dimension to a perception; an effort to capture the ephemeral experience of observing.
